BIOS's and Bootloaders

Our team has extensive experience designing, developing and testing BIOS and bootloaders across a range of embedded and server commercial products.  One specialty of SSS is customization of RedBoot and other open-source bootloaders to support diagnostics, board configuration, and OS launch.

SSS engineers have implemented "bring-up" software (diagnostic-heavy bootloaders) for dozens of new products -- from PDA's to large telecommunications products.  Working with hardware teams, SSS has helped ensure that initial hardware spins were diagnosed and debugged rapidly.

Server Blades (RedBoot and Linux)

SSS implemented BIOS, Embedded Linux, diagnostics and drivers for multi-CPU Intel server-blades for two clients building high-performance multi-CPU servers.  SSS worked with hardware engineers to provide robust bring-up software that reduced the time between spins and improved the quality of the product.
